Ballet Slipers Nail Polish by Essie

Who doesn’t love a great manicure pedicure every now and then? What makes a great manicure even better… using a high quality product like Essie. Nail bloggers, beauty editors, and girls around the world agree that Essie nail polish is a tried and true brand. We love the quality and wide variety of colors that Essie nail polish offers. Essie Nail Polish does not contain the following toxic chemicals: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP). It does not cause clumping, streaks, and it is a chip-resistant formula. Their collections have won numerous awards from well-known magazines such as Redbook, O Magazine, Siempre Mujer, Health, Shape, Allure, Reader’s Choice Awards, and New Beauty.

Some of our loves are Ballet Slippers and Mademoiselle, two subtle soft pink with a sheer finish that gently cover the nail and look beautiful on anyone’s hands. One of our customers introduced us to a dark color, Smoking Hot. It is a deep sexy plum with a hint of smoky grey. This shade is a great color for a first date or every day wear!

Here are a few helpful tips for achieving a great at home manicure:

  1. Prepare an area for your at-home manicure – you will need paper towels, Q-tips, acetone nail polish remover, nail polish, base and top coats, nail file, nail clipper, lotion.
  2. Clean and wash your hands and nails well.
  3. Remove any old nail polish with remover.
  4. Trim and file your nails in either a square shape or oval or combination of both -square-round shape.
  5. Push back your cuticles with a stick or cuticle remover.
  6. Make sure your nails are dry.
  7. Apply lotion to hands — not nails.
  8. Apply a good base coat
  9. Apply your nail polish, give it a few seconds to dry and repeat
  10. Apply top coat.
  11. Allow at around 20-30 minutes to dry.

One way to check if your nails are dry: gently rub nails with each other – (left and right hands), if they do not stick, they are dry!

Apply cuticle oil around your nails – on your fingers to give a more soft finish to your home manicure.
